One of the most difficult decisions that a pet owner must make involves the end of the life of their beloved pet. The Humane Society of NWPA offers private euthanasia and cremation services to assist the pet owner to manage difficult decisions and circumstances with the knowledge that they have acted responsibly, humanely, and lovingly in the best interest of their pet's wellbeing.

Private Euthanasia

In recognition of an important and essential need, the Humane Society offers dignified, humane euthanasia and cremation services. The Humane Society staff clearly understands the pain and grief of making difficult decisions. Our staff is prepared to discuss options and help guide the pet owner through difficult times. The Humane Society has taken care to meet the needs of the community for dignified, professional and affordable private euthanasia and cremation services for the pet owner.

The Humane Society adheres to the highest standards in the performance of humane euthanasia, and employs the methods most recommended by the American Humane Association and the Humane Society of the United States. The procedure is performed under the supervision of a certified technician.

A pet owner considering euthanasia for their pet should contact the Humane Society of NWPA to discuss their situation with us. We can help the pet owner to explore available options, and to help ensure that an informed, educated decision is made that takes into consideration the health and security of both the family and its pet.

Private Cremation

To many of us, preserving the memory and honoring the life of our beloved canine or feline friend can involve cremation. The Humane Society offers dignified, professional cremation at affordable rates.

The pet owner may choose to receive the cremated remains of his or her beloved pet. An important part of the grieving process is to conduct a fitting memorial in remembrance of a precious lost friend.

For more information about private euthanasia and cremation services, please contact the HSNWPA at (814) 835-8331. Services are provided by appointment only– walk-in clients are not accepted.

The Humane Society reserves the right to reject any candidate for these services if we feel that the request is inappropriate, or we may refer the client to obtain veterinary service and consultation regarding the animal.
