This energetic and fun guy is looking for an owner who will give him a lot of exercise-time, and he would do well in a home with lots of room to run. A dog introduction with other dogs in the home must occur prior to adoption, but no cats please; he may be too much for small children. Humane Society Adoption Days Open House - May 5thJoin us for the Humane Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania Open House on Saturday, May 5, 2012, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, at the shelter located at 2407 Zimmerly Rd, Erie, PA, just 1/2 mile west of the Millcreek Mall at Interchange Rd. You will have the opportunity to meet many of the wonderful cats and dogs we have available for adoption, as volunteers and staff show them off. The day will feature pet adoption promotions and incentives, animal and pet care demonstrations, local pet industry vendor displays and educational information. There will be games and prizes, a Chinese auction, plus FREE hot dogs, snacks and refreshments! Admission to the event is FREE, and donations are always welcome. The Humane Society of NWPA receives no government funds, nor support from national advocacy organizations, to fund its shelter operations. Help us kick off the current adoption season! Provide a secure, permanent home to a needy dog or cat. And remember, always spay and neuter!
2012 Erie County Dog Licenses Available Now!The 2012 Dog licenses for Erie County residences (does not include those within Erie city limits) are available for purchase NOW at the Humane Society and the Erie County Courthouse. All dogs 3 months of age and older are required by PA state law to have a valid/current dog license on their collars at all times. The PA State Dog Warden will begin checking pets for valid licenses as early as February. Erie City residents may purchase dog licenses from City Hall as well as various locations throughout the city. Please note: The county and city licenses are NOT the same tags; if you live within the city limits, your dog must have a city tag; county tags are not valid. 2012 Pet Calendar Still Available - Only $5!
The 2012 Humane Society of NWPA Pet Calendar is still available at the shelter, and various offsite locations. The price has been reduced to $5.00. Please pick up your copy today as this may be the last of our pet calendar products that you will see for awhile. The calendar can be found at these and other locations including: Mudpuppies, la bella Restaurant, Topics, Wildbirds Unlimited/Village West, Traditions, Trellis, Best Fitness, Glass Growers Gallery, and several local veterinary hospitals in the Erie area.
